Procion MX Powder

Procion MX Brown 100g (3.6 oz) Procion MX fiber reactive dyes are especially made for low temperature immersion techniques and will dye all cellulose fibers (including cotton, linen, rayon, ramie, hemp, jute, wood, paper, and basketry materials) to full rich shades of color. Silk will dye to medium shades. 30 g (approx 1 oz) of dye will colour 500 g (approx. 1 lb) of dry fiber a medium shade with the addition of salt and soda ash. Colors range from delicate pastels to vibrant and rich shades. Procion MX powdered dyes are easily mixed to achieve any colour desired. Techniques: low temperature immersion, wax resist/batik, discharge dying,direct application or batch dyeing, tie-dye, yarn dyeing, garment dyeing, microwave dyeing. To dye with Procion MX you will also need: Soda Ash as a fixitive. Regular table salt is used as a leveler. If you are batch dying you will also need Urea. Sodium Alginate is an excellent thickener for Procion MX dyes. Synthrapol soap is a must have for these dyes as it prevents back staining (colour bleed) during final washing.
