Emulsified wax is a water based resist. It is actually a cold wax in a liquid emulsion. It may be used straight from the
bottle for most applications or may be thickened with a resist thickener for screening or very fine fabrics. It is best
applied with squeeze bottles, brushes, sponges, rollers, etc. Being water soluble, emulsified wax may be colored with
the addition of dye. If the dye is in liquid solution, the emulsified wax may require thickening for normal application.
The emulsified wax is removed by washing in warm water and mild soap or drycleaning. With storage, emulsified wax
may become lumpy. Simply strain through a fine sieve or cheesecloth to restore smoothness. |
